GLOBAL REACH
In today's Global Economy your customers and providers are located all over the world. Good communication is key for your business efficiency, because you need to have clear communication with your customers and providers. To achieve good communication with your foreign customers and providers you need first class translations of your business communication tools (documents, websites, software).
Despite the fact that many people around the world have some basic knowledge of English, people will be more inclined to communicate in their native language because they can communicate much better and more efficiently than in a foreign language.
TRANSLATION COST AND YIELD
Companies that communicate with their customers in their native language have a serious advantage over companies that do not. They are able to increase their customer reach and market potential. Also, being able to communicate with your foreign providers in their own language can help you get more efficient results from them.
However, sometimes companies are tempted (to save costs) to have their important communication materials translated in house by employees that do not have profesional experience of translation and are not native speakers of the target language. This can lead to important messages "lost in translation" and, even worse, it can result in linguistic mistakes that can be very harmful to the company's image. In short, small savings on translation costs can cost you a fortune.
In many industries and areas of business translation plays an important role. It can make the difference: business contracts, agreements, legal issues, public regulations, tax and accounting and financial rules, etc.
LANGUAGE, INDUSTRY AND FIELD EXPERTISE
The knowledge of languages is not enough to be a good translator. Mastering a foreign language is challenging and very few people achieve it, even among translators. On top of that a good translator has to master his own language, he needs to have excellent spelling, grammar and writing skills. But there is more. To do a good translation you have to understand the document you are translating and you need to understand the topic vocabulary in both source and target language. In order to achieve this you need to be familiar with the topic and even with the industry to which the company's document belong. And finally a good translator needs to have extensive experience - as in any other job, experience matters.
